Council Administration

Subject to the RDC ACT 29:13, council consist of one elected councillor for each ward of the council area and may also include such number of councillors representing special interests not exceeding one-quarter of the number of elected councillors, appointed by the Minister in respect of the council by statutory instrument.

Chikomba RDC is made up of seven thematic commitees, these are: Human Resources,Finance, Town Board, Audit, Agric and Con, Health and social Services, Roads. Each committee is made up councillors and is chaired by an elected councillor. The committees are responsible for policy formulation in their thematic areas and report to full council. Council secretariat report to their respective committees


 

Departments

Human Resources, Admin and Social Services Department

The department is responsible for Human Capital management and Development, Occupational Health and safety management, Human Resource support services, Develop and implement corporate governance framework

Engineering and Technical Services Department

The core functions of the department are: Provision and maintenance of infrastructure , Planning Services and development control in liaison with Planning & Environment department, Advising Council on Engineering matters

Finance Department

The core functions: Consolidation and monitoring of Council budget, Formulation of departmental budget, Maintenance of Asset Register, Financial Reporting
