About Us
Serving Chikomba District Since 1993
Chikomba District lies in Mashonaland East Province, 144 km from Harare and 142 km from Masvingo along the Harare–Chivhu–Masvingo and Beitbridge commercial route. The district is a gateway to South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique and Zambia.
Chikomba Rural District Council was established in 1993 through the state-mandated amalgamation of four predecessor councils — Chikomba District Council, Charter Rural Council, Chivhu Rural Council and Featherstone Rural Council — under the Rural District Councils Act (Chapter 29:13).

Chikomba is strategically positioned on the Zimbabwean map and benefits from the national commercial route linking Harare, Chivhu, Masvingo and Beitbridge. The district borders Seke and Wedza to the north, Buhera to the south-east, Gutu to the south, Chirumuhanzu to the south-west and Mhondoro-Ngezi to the west.
The council is committed to operationalising its Master Plan — grounded in the 2022 Population and Housing Census — to make a direct contribution to national Vision 2030 and the broader devolution agenda.
